About Course Fees and Funding

What are the course fees and what do they include?

Our fees reflect the quality of the continuous tuition and personalised support you receive throughout the program. Here’s a few extra pointers about our fees:

  • Our fees include all study materials and consumables. If you are a funded WA based student, we will also organise your work placement for no extra charge.

Course fees vary depending on your individual circumstances, eligibility for government support, concession status, the time of intake and credit transfers. If you’re unsure whether you qualify for a Jobs and Skills WA subsidised place, please contact our Student Support team on 08 9472 1804

Your fees include all study materials and consumables. If you are funded WA based student, we will also organise your work placement for no additional cost.

The ACM40418 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is subsidised for students who meet the eligibility criteria, under Jobs and Skills WA. It is part of the Lower fees, local skills program.

The annual fees cap means that eligible non-concession students will only pay a maximum of $1,200 and concession-fee paying students or those aged under 25 will only pay up to $400 for enrolled units per year. The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as resource fees and other fees.

Credit transfers (CT)

AVT students who have been awarded an AVT Animal Studies or Animal Care qualification will receive credit transfers for relevant units successfully completed. As a result, your overall course fees will be reduced where applicable.

Students who have completed previous relevant studies with an alternative training provider will need to apply for credit transfers. The number of credits will depend on the units of competency successfully completed. Learn more in our FAQ here.

** Work Placement will be organised by AVT for WA, Perth based students if a student is not already employed in a veterinary practice. Regional WA and Non-WA based students will need to be either employed in a veterinary hospital or organise their own placement. Jobs and Skills WA Funding and Eligibility ^^

The ACM40418 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is eligible for government subsidisation under the Jobs and Skills WA program for our on-campus and blended learning study modes. Subsidised places are limited and are subject to availability. The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as resource fees and other fees. To be eligible for the subsidised fees students must:

Meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years old or over in the year of enrolment 
  • Persons under 18 years of age in the year of enrolment are not eligible for a funded place unless they:
    • Are a Year 12 school leaver no longer enrolled in compulsory education OR
    • Hold a Department of Education (WA) approved Notice of Arrangement (NOA) or exempted from the School Education Act 1999. This does not include students undertaking a school based program such as an Apprenticeship, Traineeship, Pre-apprenticeship, or Aboriginal School Based Training (ASBT) Program.

AND

  • Blended learning course students are required to be employed more than 20 hours per week in any industry (please note this ONLY applies to blended learning study mode students and does not apply to part-time students)
  • Have a primary residence in Western Australia
  • Have a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier)
  • Be an Australian citizen OR permanent resident; OR one of the following:
    • Holder of a sub-class 309, 444, 785, 790, or 820 visa;
    • Secondary holders of a temporary visa of sub-class 457or 482 visa;
    • Holder of a Bridging Visa E (subclasses 050 and 051) where the visa holder has made a valid application for a visa of subclass 785 or 790;
    • Ukraine citizens who are holders of a visa sub-class 449 or 786;
    • Afghan citizens who are holders of a visa sub-class 449;
    • Holders of a bridging visa who are eligible to work, and who have made a valid application for a subclass 866.

Students not eligible for government-subsidised fees will be subject to the full fee tuition cost of $17,500 for 2024/2025 on-campus enrolments. For more information and FAQ’s visit the Jobs and Skills WA website.
