Support for your Mental Health

If you’re finding being a student overwhelming, we’re here to listen and provide guidance. If you’re experiencing distressing symptoms, we recommend reaching out to one of the following amazing services, who can assist you in a crisis and help you to get on track. 

Lifeline are a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They’re committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope.

Bluebird Mental Health is a support service that utilises qualified psychologists to facilitate group meetings, along with peer support specifically for adults over 25 experiencing depression and anxiety.

If you’re between 5 and 25 and you’re feeling depressed, worried, sad, angry or confused about things like your studies personal relationships, Kids Helpline offers free 24 hour, 7 day telephone counselling support (anonymous if you prefer).

The Black Dog Institute is a world leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder.

MensLine Australia provide free 24/7 help, support, referrals and counselling services for men via telephone, online and video.

SANE supports all people in Australia affected by complex mental health issues. They exist to break barriers, raise expectations, and champion the voices of people with lived experience and their families and communities; to increase peer-led, connected support and drive systemic change.

Suicide Call Back Service is a free nationwide service providing 24/7 phone and online counselling to people affected by suicide.

headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.

headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.

Beyond Blue is an Australian mental health and wellbeing support organisation. They provide support programs to address issues related to depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental illnesses.

Anonymous and confidential, ReachOut is a safe place where young people can openly express themselves, get a deeper understanding and perspective on what’s happening in their lives, connect with people who will provide judgement-free support, and build the resilience to manage their challenges now and in the future.

SuperFriend is a not-for-profit organisation backed by our Partners in the Superannuation & Life Insurance industries. They’re dedicated to transforming mental health research into practical, powerful solutions that benefit workplaces & their employees.

CLAN (Care Leavers Australasia Network) offers support to people who have grown up in Orphanages, Children’s Homes, Missions, Foster Care and other Child Welfare institutions in Australia and New Zealand. They also support close family members of Care Leavers.
