Amanda grew up in Perth, Western Australia and decided at a young age that she would like to pursue a career as a Veterinary Nurse. Amanda has been working in the industry as a Veterinary Nurse for over 20 years, primarily for Vetwest Animal Hospitals. She has always enjoyed mentoring and training students including those studying with AVT! Amanda has worked in general practice as a Head Nurse and a Practice Manager, she also worked at a veterinary specialist clinic before joining the team at AVT.
As the Student Support Manager at AVT, Amanda’s role is to mentor and lead the entire Student Support Team to ensure our students are being well supported and set up for success. Amanda also provides additional support to students on a one-on-one basis and works closely with the animal care facilities that look after our students in placement.
Amanda is passionate about veterinary nursing and ensuring all patients are delivered a high standard of nursing care, she also recognises the importance of client communication and education to ensure the best outcomes for the pets and their owners. This passion is something she hopes to pass on to many students at AVT for years to come.
During her downtime, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, including her two Whippets, Devo and Pedro.
