From Students to Vet Nurses, the Graduates of 2024 Shine Bright

On Thursday 19 December 2024, the AVT community gathered for a night of celebration and heartfelt pride as we honoured our 2024 veterinary nursing graduates. With over 400 guests in attendance, including graduates and their proud families and friends, it was a truly remarkable evening dedicated to recognising the incredible achievements of our students.

The ceremony was inspiring and moving, reflecting on the graduates’ journey and the bright futures that lie ahead. We were delighted to welcome Tracey Woods from the Vet Nurses Council of Australia (VNCA) once again as our esteemed guest speaker and award presenter of the Workplace Excellence Award. Her words of wisdom and encouragement resonated deeply with everyone in the room, reminding us of the vital role veterinary nurses play in the care and welfare of animals.

The event featured heartfelt speeches from AVT Trainers and Assessors, but it was the Student Representatives who stole the show, speaking emotionally on behalf of their cohorts and leaving hardly a dry eye in the room.

A special thank you to Chloe Blanchard, Amariah Pangilinan (pictured), Amy Brogan and Nicua Kirwin for your contribution and kind words.

In addition to the formal presentation of certificates, we were thrilled to announce the winners of our annual special recognition awards, including the prestigious Student of the Year Award. This award honours students who have excelled academically and practically, demonstrated outstanding professionalism, and embodied the dedication and compassion required to succeed in this field.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our graduates, especially those who could not attend the ceremony. Your accomplishments and contributions to the veterinary nursing community shine brightly, and we are immensely proud of each and every one of you.

As you step into the next chapter of your careers, we look forward to hearing about your adventures and the positive impact you will make in the veterinary industry and the lives of countless animals. Your journey has just begun, and your future is bright.

Congratulations to the graduates of 2024, you truly shine!
